Potter's Wheel

At right is an image of the custom-built treadle wheel I have used with great pleasure for over 7 years. Its development was the result of a 2-year collaboration with the builder, master woodworker J.R. "Chips" Lindley. The resources we consulted include: every applicable source available on the internet, the drawings in Bernard Leach's "A Potter's Life," personal conversations and correspondence with several potters who have designed and built their own wheels, as well as several others who use the Leach treadle wheel.

After receiving many compliments and inquiries about my wheel, I recently persuaded Chips to begin building these wheels as commssions from interested buyers.
